As neither band was able to play at this years Swn Festival, Swn presents both bands in support of the upcoming event.

Fanfarlo are a six piece from London who’ve changed labels more regularly than Pete Doherty has changed underwear since their inception in the mid Naughties. Despite this unrest, they’ve managed to churn out consistently good tunes that no doubt tick all the right boxes for connoisseurs of pastoral indie-folk.

First Aid Kit consists of Swedish teenagers Johanna and Klara Söderberg. The duo’s kinship is evident in the perfectly intertwined vocal harmonies that provide the backbone to their narrative songs that belie the sisters’ tender years. You’re Not Coming Home Tonight, the standout track from this year’s debut E.P. Drunken Trees tells the tale of an ageing woman fleeing from her ungrateful partner, despite an uncertain future. The band’s mantra ‘we aim for the hearts not the charts’ which has garnered them a small army of fans means that they should have no such worries regarding their own futures, however, and they are currently putting the finishing touches to their first album, due for release on Witchita early next year.
